The article considers the problem of the readiness of teachers of a higher educational institution to carry out actions in an emergency and training evacuation measures included in the fire safety system. The comprehensive safety of the educational organization includes fire safety. The implementation of evacuation measures is included in the regime of ensuring the fire safety of an educational institution. The author emphasizes the existence of professional deficits among higher schoolteachers in the field of safety and safety of life and health of the student contingent, manifested in lack of awareness in the planning and conduct of evacuation, the proper development of managerial and communicative skills that ensure the success of training evacuation. The author justifies the idea that monitoring, prevention, training, organization and control are structural components of the security system and represent the stages of the implementation of the teacher-training program on the formation of competencies in the field of safety. The author proposed a program for training university teachers for actions in emergencies and fire danger, including three blocks: visual information, operational, control and verification. The thesis that the training of teachers should contain a variety of interactive technologies and methodologies is justified.
