The article examines the problems of business planning in Russia and a number of factors influencing them, including the political and economic situation in the country, as well as the adaptation peculiarities of foreign business planning methods to Russian conditions. The main methods of business planning, most often used among Russian entrepreneurs, are considered. The relevance of the article topic is due to the fact that at present the level of competitiveness of any enterprise largely depends on its ability to adapt in conditions of extreme instability in the external environment, which predetermines the need to use modern business planning tools to improve the efficiency of the enterprise. As an effective example of business planning, an investment project for the production of hard cheese for JSC “Plemzavod Taezhny” is presented, the main products of which are milk and dairy products.
