This article examines the nature of same-sex relationships and sexual attraction to one's own gender ("are you gay or are you born?"). Three approaches to this problem in modern science are considered: essentialist, constructivist, and multi-factor, and a survey study is described that clarifies how people relate to same-sex relationships in our time, and what are the reasons for this attitude. The paper focuses on the results of the study - the attitude of different age groups to same-sex love, the degree of openness to talk about such topics, and the motives for aggressive behavior towards LGBT communities. Most often, respondents named the following reasons for it: "they are like this from birth", "they had a traumatic experience in childhood"," they have problems with self-perception", "they decided to experiment and they liked it". The mention of same-sex relationships or their demonstration in the media is often not perceived by people as propaganda, but it raises some doubts and concerns. The novelty of the work was an attempt to analyze the perception of same-sex relationships in the context of its management. The research methods in this article are: analysis of sources, questionnaires, as well as systematization and generalization of the data obtained during the survey. The hypothesis of the study is the idea that active promotion of same-sex relationships has become another way of manipulating power over people, an attempt to create the appearance of equality with real inequality.
