The scenery of Ercole I d’Este Ferrara in a woodcut from Modena Estense Library and a problem of Renaissance in Lombardy and Venice

В статье сделана попытка на основе городской ведуты, ксилографии из библиотеки Эстенсе в Модене (конец XV века), реконструировать облик ренессансной Феррары эпохи герцога Эрколе I дЭсте (14711505) и определить своеобразие этого города в контексте ломбардо-венецианской архитектурной традиции Кватроченто. Анализ трех ключевых аспектов гравюры из Модены (композиции гравюры, изображенной архитектуры сохранившейся, утраченной, фантазийной и городской монументальной скульптуры) обнаруживает, с одной стороны, явственную выраженность венецианской стилистической составляющей в архитектурном образе Феррары XV века, а с другой обогащение ее сугубо местной семантикой, укорененной в рыцарской традиции, мировоззрении, символике. The article deals with a Quattrocento Ferrara scenery woodcut from the Estense Library of Modena (late 15th century, the epoch of Ercole I dEste (14711505)). An attempt made here is the one to reconstruct in presupposed limits of the engraving a Herculean Ferrara architectural image and to interpret its stylistic peculiarities in the context of Lombard and Venetian Renaissance. The woodcut key aspects analysis (that of composition, buildings depicted (now well-preserved, lost already, and visionary architectural elements) and monumental sculpture) leads one to a bilateral judgement. On one hand, the city in question turns out to have had a very strong Venetian stylistic component, which has deteriorated in the course of time. On the other, this element brought from outside has seemingly been enriched by local ideas of strong central power and mingled with medieval Chivalry tradition.
