Статья посвящена различным особенностям коврового ткачества кочевников Евразии в древности и в Средние века. Анализируются композиционные принципы орнаментики, используемой в коврах, семантика отдельных мотивов, технология изготовления войлочного ковра. Автор проводит сравнение двух типов традиционных монгольских ковров ширмэл и ширдэг. В качестве примера используются ковер хуннской эпохи и ковер периода Юань. The article is devoted to various features of carpet weaving of the Eurasian nomads in antiquity and in the Middle Ages. The compositional principles of ornamentation used in carpets, the semantics of individual motifs, the technology of making felt carpet are analyzed. The author compares two types of traditional Mongolian carpets shirmel and shirdeg. As an example, the carpet of the Hunnian epoch and the carpet of the Yuan period are used.
