Contribution of Archimandrite Leonid (Kavelin) to the study of the history of the Vladimir Eparchy

В статье представлен обзор публикаций архимандрита Леонида (Кавелина), посвященный истории монастырей, храмов и служителей Церкви Владимирской губернии, среди которых наиболее подробно рассматривается его книга «Историческое и археологическое описание первоклассного Успенского женского монастыря в городе Александрове Владимирской губернии». Отдельное исследование проведено автором статьи в отношении малоизвестных фактов благотворного влияния архим. Леонида на деятельность молодых церковных историков из духовенства Владимирской епархии. Ряд эпистолярных источников, использованных в статье, впервые вводится в научный оборот в составе комплекса нарративов об Успенском женском монастыре в г. Александрове. Исследования о. Леонида о Владимирской епархии получают в настоящей работе новое осмысление. The article presents an overview of the publications of Archimandrite Leonid (Kavelin) devoted to the history of monasteries, temples and ministers of the Church of the Vladimir province, among which the most detailed his book is considered: "Historical and archaeological description of the first-class Assumption Convent in the city of Alexandrov, Vladimir province". An individual study was conducted by the author the article regarding the little-known facts of the beneficial influence of archimandrite Leonid on the activities of young church historians from the clergy of the Vladimir Eparchy. A number of epistolary sources used in the article are introduced into scientific circulation for the first time as part of a complex of narratives about the Assumption Convent in the city of Alexandrov. Father Leonid's research on the Vladimir Diocese is given a new meaning in this work.
