Статья посвящена дирхаму подвеске, обнаруженному во время раскопок древнерусского городища Вщиж в 1949 г. экспедицией под руководством Б. А. Рыбакова. Подвеска была сделана из дирхама аббасидского халифа ал Мутазза, правившего в 866 869 гг. С учетом времени обращения монеты в арабских землях, а также долгого срока использования ее в качестве подвески, периодом выпадения ее в культурный слой Вщижа можно считать конец IX Х в. The paper publishes a dirham pendant discovered during the excavations of the Medieval Russia fortified settlement of Vshchizh conducted by an expedition led by B. A. Rybakov in 1949. The pendant was made from a dirham of the Abbasid caliph al Mutazz, who ruled in 866 869. Taking into account the period of this coin circulation in the Arab lands as well as a long period of its use as a pendant, most likely, it fell into the Vshchizh occupation layer at the end of the 9th 10th centuries.
