The IX All-Russia Meeting of the Heads of Information Services for Culture and Art “Information and Analytical Support in the Sphere of Culture: Status and Prospects” and the Research and Practical Conference “Information and Analytical Projects of the Libraries: Challenges of the 21 century” were held on 16-18 September, 2015 in St. Petersburg. Basing on the materials of the events there is presented an overview of major actions and trends in the development of information and analytical activities of libraries. There are considered the prospects, success and risk factors in the information and analytical activity of libraries in the sphere of culture and art.
