Social media is the new tool for libraries in Russia, which provides new opportunities to reach readers and fulfill their needs. By now this tool has no rooling guides and common vision. This article tells about aims and objects for the Working group of the Russian Library Association called «Libraries and Social Media», which was created to institualize libraries activity in social media.
