The article considers the role and possibilities of libraries in formation and integration of the resources of biographical information on the personalities of history and culture of the past. There is analyzed the experience of a number of the world’s largest libraries in accumulating and systematization of printed and electronic biographical information resources, implementation of the scientific-methodical and consultancy work with readers, preparation of guides to collections of libraries, biobibliographic references, dictionaries and reference books.
