The establishment and development of Cossack villages and hamlets in the period of the first wave of emigration is the unique page in the history of the Russian exile. One of the important features of the Cossack villages’ existence was the activity on publication of journals and anthologies. It became the most important function and it determined its livelihoods. All the hardships and burdens of financing of these magazines were carried on by Czechoslovak authorities, as well as by the Cossack villagers.
