The article describes the libraries’ activities of Stavropol region during the Great Patriotic War, libraries’ contribution to the victory. Basing on the wide range of sources there is retraced the reconstruction of libraries’ network both in towns and in villages. There are visually shown the directions of libraries’ activities, opening of new departments, dynamics of formation of book stock of Stavropol region upon the German occupation.
