A retrospective journey into the history of the current periodicals reading room of the RSL. The paper highlights peculiarities of working with domestic and foreign periodicals, dynamics of the periodicals acquisition during the past 30 years and results of the periodicals collection usage for different years. Statistics of comparative analysis of printed and digital domestic periodicals usage and suggestions to improve collection acquisitionis presented.
