The red lionfih was captured in the northeast Colombian Caribbean, in “El Yoyo” fihing ground, located in La Guajira peninsula (Riohacha). The Guajira continental shelf, located between Santa Marta and Venezuela, should be a stepping area for lionfih pelagic larvae.
