A new species of hermit crab, Pylopagurus samariensis is described. It is found in shallow waters of the rocky littoral zone in areas nearby Santa Marta, Colombia. Also presented here are morphological comparisons P. operculatus Stimpson and P. holthuisi Provenzano, in view of their similarity to this new species.
