The article reveals the features of zoomorphic and vegetative models as productive metaphorical models, through which the figurative resources of the TRANSFORMATION concept in the Ukrainian language are realized. It was found that the zoomorphic model is determined by a group of zoomorphic features of the analyzed concept and is detailed by animalistic (animal features), ornithological (birds), ichthyological (fish), entomological (insect) characteristics that structure the corresponding partial models. The animalistic model conveys a wide range of transformations, and a specific indication of the form is always fixed. Entomological types of transformations are supplemented by an evaluative component: positive (bee, ant) or negative (flea, fly). The vegetative model combines plant metaphors, by which we mean the actualization of plant characteristics in the nomination and description of the object of transformation by the similarity of growth properties, physiology, life cycles, stages of development, and so on. This model involves the transformation of "man (or part of it) − a plant", rarely vice versa. The Ukrainian linguistic worldview is characterized by the provision of morphological characteristics of the plant to anthropomorphic concepts, so the implementation of the model ‘TRANSFORMATION − a plant’ reveals in the structure of the concept a group of vegetative features: ‘roots’, ‘stem’, ‘blossom’.
