Central centrifugal scarring alopecia as a rare form of scarring alopecia

The authors describe a rare form of scarring alopecia - central centrifugal scarring alopecia (synonym: folliculardegeneration syndrome). A particular feature of this disorder is a combination of scarring alopecia with pathology of thethyroid gland. The authors also provide a classification of primary scarring alopecias.
