The present study aims at analyzing cooperative practices in built cultural heritage and identify how they affect innovation. To this end, a systematic revision of the literature and analysis of two interna‑ tional case studies (Italy and Spain) were carried out, concluding that: i) the impact of built cultural heritage on the draw of tourism is clear, above all in urban destinations; ii) the agents responsible for the manage‑ ment of built cultural heritage must be able to envision new targets and adapt their offer to a more demand‑ ing and independent tourist who wants to have access to sophisticated experiences with which to interact in a personalized way; iii) cooperation networks in tourism are management models that generate innovation in the offer with favorable impacts for the respective territories.
