The French autobiographical comic written by women constitutes a growing genre which reveals a huge diversity and richness of expression. Through a representative corpus of albums, we will endeavour to clarify to what extent these publications bring new narrative perspectives with respect to the standard comic form and how they contribute in a specific way to Self-representation. Our discussion is interested, above all, in the contention between sincerity and dissimulation in the construction of an autobiographical portrait. The study of the interdependent relationship in this double coded medium, between the text and the iconograph, allows us to delve into the pragmatics of the comic on which the discursive challenges posed by the female authors, are based
