"«Forgetful memory»: the beautiful oxymoron serves as a point of reference in the analysis of this paradox that allows us to overcome the negative connotation that is always associated with forgetting. Neither memory is the opposite of forgetting, nor should forgetting be assimilated to a simple memory void. Memory cannot be fully understood if it is not accepted as a premise that forgetting is part of it, or to put it better, memory is forgetful. We intend to look into that memory void that is intriguing and that is perceived in books VI-X of the Memoirs from beyond the Grave to present in this work an oblivion that does not have to be negative, but can also be, pleasurable."
