This article argues that protecting refugeesand internally displaced persons(IDPs) is an issue of universal humanrights. It then suggests the urgent needfor the UN Commission on HumanRights, working in collaboration withthe United Nations High Commissionerfor Refugees (UNHCR) andmember states of the United Nations, toplay more important roles in protectingand enhancing human rights. It alsostresses the importance of appropriatefollow-up to the calls for more commitmentand better actions in this area.
