The Canadian Jesuit RefugeeProgramme hosted the conference "Calledto Respond: Refugees and the NewCanadian Reality" on October 28-30. Theobjective was to develop a working strategyon options to continue supportingrefugees. Given the ambiguity of how thenew legislation will be manifest in practice, our "new reality" is currently largelyunknown quantity. Clearly, in these circumstances, the process of developing astrategy is dynamic in nature sincestrategizing must anticipate the need torespond to reality as it unfolds.
