This article discusses the most significant problems of the pedagogical diagnostics process in the system of Russian military education at the present stage of its development. At the same time, special attention is paid to the impact that digitalization, which been recorded over the past decades can have on pedagogical diagnostics in military universities. Also the article discuss the possibilities of using in this process such forms of control related to the introduction of informational and telecommunicational technologies, as a computer test tasks Bank, presentations and electronic textbooks, due to their features, also have a certain resource for modernizing the process of pedagogical diagnostics.
