The article presents the results of research on the problem of developing mental activity in older preschool children in the process of logical and mathematical exercises and games. The essence of the concept, criteria and indicators of mental activity are defined. The article presents diagnostic tools for diagnostics of older preschool children, the results of the study, as well as pedagogical conditions that contribute to improving the effectiveness of the teacher in this direction.
