The article reveals the empirical and theoretical features of the formation of professional competencies in the specialty 40.05.01 "Legal foundations of national security", analyzes the individual determinants of legal knowledge, skills and abilities that must be mastered by the graduate, focuses on the problems of mastering professional competencies, focuses on the need for their consistency with the principles of legality, respect and observance of human and civil rights and freedoms, humanism and conspiracy.
