Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death worldwide. The risk factors for this disease are multifactorial, both modifiable and non-modifiable. Uncontrolled risk factors due to the lack of public knowledge will impact the increased risk of suffering from cardiovascular disease and stroke. Therefore, various preventive efforts were made. One of them is by increasing public knowledge through counseling and screening on risk factors for cardiovascular disease and healthy living habits. A team from the Faculty of Medicine, Tarumanagara University, collaborated with PKK (family welfare empowerment) cadres, carried out community service activities (PKM) in Tomang Village with local community participants. The team conducted data collection on daily living habits, anthropometric data, blood pressure checks, blood sugar, and total cholesterol checks to determine cardiovascular disease and stroke risk factors. A pretest and post-test were delivered to assess cardiovascular disease and stroke knowledge before-after the counseling. Several findings, which are risk factors for cardiovascular disease and stroke, were found. From one hundred and thirty participants,  105 people (80.77%) were overweight (obesity). Eighty-four people (64.62%) had blood pressure above normal. Ten people (7.69%) whose blood sugar was above the normal limit, and 64 people (49.23%) had high total cholesterol levels.  Seventy-seven people (59.23%) had no exercise habits. The mean pretest score was 6.92 points, and the post-test score was 7.37 points. Statistical analysis showed a mean difference between the pretest and post-test values of 0.45 points with a p-value of 0.003 (p <0.005). This activity is beneficial and expected to be carried out continuously to control risk factors for cardiovascular disease and stroke.ABSTRAK:Penyakit kardiovaskuler merupakan penyebab nomor satu kematian di seluruh dunia.
