This article aims at critically analyzing the different approaches conducted by the structuralist and the scopos theory in tranlstaing. The former emphasized the equivalence in producing good translation, however the later deals mosty not only the equaivalence, in producing acceptable translation, but the requirement and condition of the Target Language must be taken into account
