The Process of Appointing Arnošt Konstantin Růžička a Bishop in České Budějovice During 1815 - 1816, Based on the Sources from Archivio Segreto Vaticano Based on the sources saved in Archivio Segreto Vaticano, this study elaborates on the Episcopal designation of Arnošt Konstantin Růžička, becoming the second bishop in České Budějovice. In essence, it represents the process itself and documents demonstrating Růžička's life, his activities that became necessary in order the process to be successfully terminated and, ultimately, the situation in South Bohemian diocese (bishop's settlement). It captures a period of almost 9-month-long designation process, starting by emperor's nomination in June 1815 and ending by pope's confirmation in March 1816.
