The translation of the New Testament by Berger / Nord (62003) “Das Neue Testament undfrühchristliche Schriften” [The New Testament and early Christian writings] belongs to a large traditionwhich pretends to vivify the biblical texts. From a traductological point of view it is very interesting toread the introduction to all the writings of the New Testament and the early Christian texts becauseBerger / Nord explain their reasons why they have changed the order of the texts and how they havetranslated the writings following their funcionalist method of “Making Otherness Accessible”. With 10thesis and antithesis they develope this method of translating on the base of this functionalist approachwhich we will discuss from the perspective of the communicative equivalence.
