The present study aims at revealing the level of competence of the administrative staff at Yarmouk University. In order to achieve the objective of the study, a population of 291 individuals were randomly selected. The results show that level of functional efficiency was average. Moreover, there were statistically significant differences due to gender and qualification. The female participants scored significantly higher than the males and those who have postgraduate degrees were always significantly different from the other participants. The results did not reveal any statistically significant differences due to the effects of years of service and job title. In light of these results, the researcher recommends the need to pay more attention to the use of technology in the workplace to create an environment conducive to the activation of the functional efficiency and to exploit the creative energies available as quickly and effortlessly as possible.
