The areas of federal budget spending have always been in the focus of both experts and civil society. Based on the indicators of budget allocations in one direction or another, it is possible to judge about the priorities of state policy in the medium term. Beginning in 2019, priority national development goals were defined in the Russian Federation and relevant projects were developed as part of their implementation. This article considers the main indicators of financing national projects in 2020 and the planning period up to 2023, as well as indicators of their implementation. In addition, the impact of the COVID–19 coronavirus pandemic on the future prospects for the implementation of priority national projects was discussed.
