The article is devoted to the modeling of socio-economic processes at the meso-level of the economy. It is noted that the region is a complex, open, hierarchical socio-economic system. The main methods of modeling such systems are analyzed. A three-level model of the region is proposed. The conclusion is made about the prospects of further research in the framework of this model.
