The author analyzes the political and economic formation - the Union State of Russia and Belarus. A brief analysis of the twenty-year period of development of the Union State of Russia and Belarus is carried out, the main achievements and problems of integration in the social, political and economic spheres are noted. The conclusion is formulated that many of the stated goals of the Union State were not achieved, it is noted that its further construction is actually frozen. The main causes of stagnation and «stalling» of integration processes are identified.
