Insufficient effectiveness of present classical system of project management stipulates searching new approaches providing labour, time and material limits of the allocated budget. The article presents analysis of the techniques for carrying out project activity Scrum, which concept contains the principles of lean production implying improvement product quality and using possible minimum amount of resources due to application of specific instruments and metrics. The article deals with general principles of the techniques: the need to complete the work within the planned time interval (sprint); holding daily scrum-meetings; making efficient decisions on issues arising etc. The authors underline the importance of building industrious team taking into account the temper, spirits and individual preferences of each member. The role of the leader is clearly indicated in the process of team building. There are listed conditions for effective staff motivation.
