The main protection systems against corrosion of steel hull are lacquer coating and protective action (PA). The running regime control of these systems must be performed by the crew. Nevertheless, Kamchatka fleet crews don’t perform the control alluded to rated resources for lacquer coating (2 years) and for PA (2 years). It has been found that everyday control of protection system is necessary against corrosion of vessel hull if the service vessels run in coastal waters of Kamchatka during winter. The authors have proposed the means of control which effectiveness was proved on a service vessel of Kamchatka fleet. The crew and the ship-owner opportunely got information about protection system modification in state of nonoperability. This permitted organizing maintenance of vessel hull in proper time and cutting down maintenance expenses and reducing repair period by 8-10 times.
