The main method of steel hull protection from corrosion is sacrificial protection. Today the performance assessment of the sacrificial protection is difficult and laborious problem which demands substantial costs and application of job-dedicated machinery. In the article the possibility of the exception of expensive visual inspection to control cathodic protection systems of steel hulls is proved. It allows reducing the complexity of control and the costs of its implementation. Measurements the potential of the ship's hull and the strength of protection current running on a reference electrode in six control points have been carried out to determine the technical condition of cathodic protection systems in the studied vessels. Measurements of control parameters were performed three times; precision of measurements is confirmed by mathematical and statistical methods.
