All ship equipment is integrated into energy complexes (units) generating or consuming various types of energy to perform their functions. Such blocks are called functional aggregates. There are units of ship power plants and general-purpose units. To avoid ancillary works that may occur in demounting structural units during repairs, aggregates are checked for dismountability. Very often there take place aggregate repairs with its preliminary removing from the ship premises and substituting by a new one. Utilizing is divided into functional and zonal. There has been presented a tanker hold layout made according to principles of functional and zonal utilizing. The aggregate prototype model of cooling ship power plants with fresh water has been given. It has been proved that integration of power complexes into functional aggregates helps reduce ship construction time; aggregate repairs enhances operation and rises quality of the equipment assemble.
