The purpose of the study is the development of the air conditioning system (ACS) that can perform not only basic functions maintaining most optimal human values of temperature, humidity and other environmental characteristics, inherent in standard ACS, but also act as a part of a complex life safety system for most possible factors. Such factors are biological and chemical threats, fire safety, physical and vibroacoustic effects, etc. There has been carried out the analysis of the types of air conditioners and the requirements imposed on them, as well as factors that could affect the functioning of ACS. The basic requirements for ACS as a security system have been developed. The functional scheme of ACS was formed on the basis of a block diagram, which included additional functions. There has been considered the possibility of using inhalation as a preventive measure against infectious and virus diseases and as an inhaler spray. A set of sensors necessary to monitor the room environment have been described. The results of the research can be used to build a universal ACS with enriched functionality: from regulating the temperature and humidity parameters to monitoring the room environment and maintaining the safety of the facility.
