Paper discussed the design of railway turnouts on curves and transition curves. The article describes the current legal status and the origin of national regulations. In addition, the rules for the design of turnout connections on curves and transition curves, calculations of curves in turnout and speeds in turnout directions are presented in accordance with PN-EN 13803 "Railway - Track - Track design parameters in the plan - Track with a width of 1435 mm and larger " as well as „Standardy Techniczne - szczegółowe warunki techniczne dla modernizacji lub budowy linii kolejowych do prędkości Vmax ≤ 200 km/h (dla taboru konwencjonalnego) / 250 km/h (dla taboru z wychylnym pudłem) „ ST-T1-A6 Układy geometryczne torów”.
