The article discusses a inductive turnout heating system. The solution is in the phase of field tests. Comparing with the presently, commonly used electric switch point heating system, based on resistive heaters the inductive system has a significant development potential. If, in the future widely implemented, the innovative system may contribute to meaningful reduction of energy consumption by turnout heating.
