The paper discussed the problem of the location of the damage site as a result of short-circuits and complete breaks as well as short-circuits and incomplete breaks in power cables. Several localization methods are presented, their comparison and methods of application. The most frequent causes of damage to localized cables and their types are listed and presented and ways to repair. Most methods work well when using at least three localization methods together. The methods of repairing the detected defects presented in this paper are practical methods.
