This paper presents the results of the analysis of foreign experience of constitutional and legal regulation of the implementation of the principles of human rights protection by the prosecutor's office (on the example of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States). In the constituent acts of the declared group of states, an ontological set of constitutional principles for the protection of human rights and freedoms is revealed, due to their regulatory and binding nature for individual and collective subjects of legal relations. The reflection (directly or indirectly) in the constitutional and legal acts of the CIS states of the goals, objectives, individual powers and activity areas related to the human rights protection, made it possible to draw a conclusion about the development of the institution of the prosecutor's office in the territory of the post-Soviet space in the human rights dimension.
