The process of fighting for and consolidating independence in Indonesia from 1927 to 1965 was a process full of thorns and challenges. This is a special and unique historical process not only for the region but also for the world. We cannot find a model of socialist or capitalist theory applied in this process, nor can we see the duplication of this process in any other country in the world. Within the framework of the article, the author studies the achievements and limitations of the process of fighting for and consolidating national independence in Indonesia (1927 - 1965) in view of the history - politics. From there, indicate a path, a way to Indonesia's national independence - independence associated with national harmony and unification.
