
Pandemia and criminal law: on criminalization of socially dangerous actions in Russia

Official information about the outbreak of pneumonia of unknown etiology in Wuhan City, the capital of Hubei Province (China) was first announced on December 31, 2019 by the World Health Organization (WHO) in China. The paper analyzes the issues of responsibility in Russia for dangerous acts associated with the pandemic. In particular, the responsibility for the public dissemination of knowingly false information about the circumstances that pose a threat to the life and safety of citizens (Fake news). They performed the analysis of socially dangerous situations associated with the spread of a new coronavirus infection. The authors of the article state that the criminalization of individual compositions considers short-term interests and is not thought out, or systemic in nature. Given the current situation, it is proposed to introduce a new corpus delict into the criminal law of Russia - “The use of violence against a person providing medical care”.
