Cultura do narcisismo e educação

O objetivo deste artigo é refletir sobre a cultura do narcisismo e seus efeitos no processo de escolarização, discutindo-a a partir das considerações de T. W. Adorno sobre formação cultural e a crítica da cultura, presentes no pensamento de Sigmund Freud. A partir destas referências teóricas discute-se a "sobrevivência psíquica em tempos difíceis", expressada na complexidade do esforço educacional e na resistência a ele, não como simples aplicação da concepção de narcisismo à contemporaneidade. Entendemos que a "mentalidade sitiada" abordada por Lasch, mais que um fenômeno da cultura norteamericana ou brasileira, na modernidade ou pósmodernidade, é inerente à economia psíquica do indivíduo e também à elaboração e legitimação da tradição cultural.Palavras-chave: narcisismo; educação; teoria crítica; psicanálise e educação.AbstractThe objective of this article is to reflect about the culture of narcissism and its effects in the scholastic process, establishing its evidences on T. W. Adorno's considerations about cultural formation and criticism of the culture present in the thought of Sigmund Freud. From this theoretic reference on, we talk about the "psychic survival in difficult times" expressed in the complexity of the educational effort and the resistance to it, not as a simple application of the narcissism conception to the contemporaneous one. We understand that the "isolated mentality" spoke by Lasch, more than a phenomenon of the American or Brazilian culture, in the modernity or post-modernity, is inherent to the individual in psychic economy and also in the elaboration and legitimacy of a cultural tradition.Keywords: narcissism; education; critical theory; psychoanalysis and education.
