The analysis of cases of mechanical asphyxia at hanging in Precarpathian region during the last five years has been carried out. The distribution of hangings in the gender and age aspects has been highlighted. It has been established that the main risk factors for mechanical asphyxia due to hanging are male sex and age over 60 years.
