In the study of the parenchymal organs of a dissected corpse extracted from water, in the state of pronounced putrefactive changes and the phenomena of adiposity in certain parts of the body, the diatom algae frustules were found in large numbers. The presence of a large number of diatoms frustules in organs and tissues can be associated with active penetration of diatoms through intercellular spaces, penetration from the lungs into the blood circulation system by pinocytosis, and also with open access lesions to the lumen of large vessels and, together with late cadaveric events, about the long stay of a corpse in the water.
