The authors analyzed the problem ofnosocomial infection (HI) in Ukraine and in the world. Itis clarified that HI, layered on the patient’s disease, affectsthe patient's condition, leads to an increase in hospital stay,to the chronicity of the process and disability of the patient. It has been determined that the most common causes ofHI in hospitals are Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella, salmonellosis, Escherichia coli, hepatitis B and AIDS.No hospital in the world can completely get rid of HI, butsuch infections can be controlled and taken into account.Classical chemical disinfectants are not effective enoughto control HI, they are not able to prevent re-infection andselective selection of resistant strains, have a short periodof disinfection and do not protect the surface from theformation of pathogenic biomembranes. Biotechnology(PIP (Probiotics In Progress)), developed by the Belgiancompany CHRISAL, uses specially selected probioticmicroorganisms Bacillus spp. This product is safe, effectively destroys and releases biomembranes, can be usedwith classic disinfectants, increasing their effectiveness, provides complete removal of organic matter remainingafter disinfection. This means a significant improvementin nosocomial infection control, protects healthcareprofessionals, patients and prevents the development ofantibiotic resistance.
