More than 80 % of patients with diabetes suffer from arterial hypertension. The combination of these two diseases increase the risk of premature death and disability in patients. The study involved 24 patients with essential hypertension stage II, II and III degree combined with diabetes type II, moderate severity in a state of subcompensation. A combination therapy with ramipril and nebivolol helped to reach the target pressure level after 1 month of treatment, as well as a significant decrease in myocardial stress by 27,28% (p<0,001), which is a sensitive indicator of changes in the heart. The treatment, being a safe option, significantly improved diastolic function of the heart and had a positive effect on lipid and carbohydrate metabolism.
