A possibility of classifying traumatic objects from the standpoint of the mechanics of deformable bodies has been considered. Two groups of traumatizing objects (indenters) based on the geometry of the contact surface – acute and obtuse have been singled out. A possibility and a need to apply theoretical principles of destructive mechanics in forensic medicine has been established.
